Skip the table bread (just tell the server not to bring it to the table). Skip the French fries, pasta or rice that most restaurant meals usually come with (ask for a substitute of fruit or veggies instead-al most all restaurants will do this for you).

Don’t be surprised if the people you are dining with give you a hard time. Such as “you are not living” or “come on, it won’t kill you”.
